Join me at the San Gabriel Valley Literary Festival Sunday, February 21! I will be reading with fellow East Jasmine Review editors Viannah Duncan and Stephanie Barbé Hammer. CHWG Shop Talk. Techniques in Dialogue: Authentic Character Speech
I'll be teaching a workshop with the Coffee House Writer's Group. Techniques in Dialogue: Authentic Character Speech In this workshop you will learn specifically about techniques for direct dialogue. We will cover what dialogue is, a few do’s and don’ts, subtext, and discuss how character background and relationship influence speech. Short exercises and sharing will follow topics. A group exercise in crafting dialogue and questions will close the session. Please bring pen and paper.
